Installing the power supply
To install the power supply, complete the following steps.
1. Carefully insert the power supply into the chassis; then, position it on the
mounting bracket and slide to the rear of the chassis.
2. Install the four screws that secure the power supply to the chassis.
3. Install any of the following components that were removed:
v
Push the drives in bay 1 and bay 2 fully into the bays (see “Installing a CD or
DVD drive” on page 73 for more information).
v Install the microprocessor heat sink (see “Installing the microprocessor and
heat sink” on page 88).
v
Install any DIMMs that you removed from DIMM connectors 3 and 4 (see
“Installing a memory module” on page 68).
v Install the microprocessor air baffle.
4. Reconnect the cables from the power supply to the system board and all
internal components.
5. Install the cover (see “Installing the cover” on page 62).
6. Reconnect the external cables and power cords to the server; then, connect the
power cords to electrical outlets.
7. Turn on the attached devices; then, turn on the server.
