Installing or removing internal drives

Working with drives in bays 5 and 6

Before you begin:

Read “Working with drives in bays 1 through 4” on
page 114.

Read the documentation that comes with the drive.

The following illustration identifies the server bays.

The drives in bays 5 and 6 must have nonremovable media. (In
some models, the server comes with a hard disk drive in bay 6.) To
install or remove drives in these bays, you must remove the rear
(lower) drive bay assembly.
