Technical limit values
2.3.1
General considerations - Legislation to consider
When planning the the vehicle conversion work, another point to consider is that of
the technical limits values which must be respected.
These limit values try to establish the measures, weights and spaces to be observed
when dimensioning the body, to be within the parameters of safety, and thus pre
-
vent accidents.
If the values contained in this manual do not match the values in European law or
the current standard of each country, the most restrictive of the two shall prevail.
Any differences or deviations from the values obtained with respect to the values
that appear in this manual should be accepted, taking into account the allowable tol
-
erance set by each country.
Legislation to consider:
Some of the regulations and standards to be considered in order to achieve the min
-
imum technical values are:
- REGULATION (EU) No 1230/2012 of 12 December 2012 implementing Regulation
(EC) No 661/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to
type approval requirements for masses and dimensions of motor vehicles and
their trailers and amending Directive 2007/46/EC of the European Parliament
and of the Council.
- REGULATION (EC) No 661/2009 of 13 July 2009 concerning type approval
requirements for the general safety of motor vehicles, their trailers and sys
-
tems, components and separate technical units intended therefore.
- DIRECTIVE 2007/46/EC of 5 September 2007 establishing a framework for the
approval of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and
separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
- DIRECTIVE 2002/7/EC of 18 February 2000 amending Council Directive 96/53/
