4.12.7 Additional air conditioning systems
When installing additional equipment for air conditioning, certain recommendations
should be considered:
- The equipment should meet the applicable rules and regulations and have the
CE mark.
See chapter 5.1 "Machinery Directive and CE marking".
- The new equipment should not influence standard equipment mounted on the
vehicle or hinder the access to it for repair or maintenance works.
- Check that the battery capacity is sufficient. Consider mounting an auxiliary
battery if necessary.

- Relevant considerations should be taken into account when connecting the
equipment to the electrical system of the vehicle.

- The guidelines and standards for the installation of electrical cables must be
respected.

- A leak detector should be used to check the tightness of the refrigerant circuit.
Leaks can occur in any point in the system, such as at the joints, the compres
-
sor, the filling valves, the evaporator, the condenser etc.
- The operation manuals for the newly installed equipment should be provided
when the vehicle is delivered.
- The components which form the equipment must be properly attached, avoiding
vibrations or falls.
- If equipment is installed on the vehicle roof, the recommendations provided in
this manual must be followed.

Proper maintenance should be carried out on air conditioning and heating, in
order to avoid emissions of gases that will destroy the ozone layer.
NOTICE
When installing equipment supplied or approved by HMC, the manufacturer's
instructions and recommendations should always be followed.
