4.11.3 Alternative systems
To reduce emissions of greenhouse gases resulting from the use of fossil fuels,
power systems provide alternative fuel solutions friendly to the environment.
HMC cannot at the moment provide alternative fuel solutions. HMC is working on
the development of alternative systems which will be introduced onto the market as
soon as possible.
4.11.4 Considerations and precautions
It is very important to ensure that the fuel tanks are inspected and cleaned to re
-
move flammable liquids or vapors before undertaking the modification work. It might
be necessary to fill the tanks with water or an inert gas.
CAUTION
- The fuel system is subjected to high pressures, use protection when carrying
out work to prevent damage caused by particles that might fly off.
- To prevent engine damage, it is important that, at the starting phase, the tank
contains enough fuel for a proper performance.
NOTICE
- The accident prevention regulations and laws and regulations of each country
should be always respected.
