In this case, the input and output shafts are not contained in the same plane. For
this reason, to compensate the imbalances that are produced, the two inner yokes
of the joint must be offset by an angle (φ), while the two working angles remain the
same (β1 = β2).

According to the above, if the same working angle (φ) is always respected, config

urations with a higher number of shafts may be made, for example when it is
necessary to overcome great distances. These shafts must be also supported by in

termediate bearings.
