Any equipment installed in the motor caravan must be rigidly fixed to the vehicle
interior, although the table and seats can be designed for easy disassembly.
Subframe features
See chapter 5.4.16 "Consideration on integrated bodies".
Type of connections
At least all the consoles available in the chassis from factory must be used. If
necessary more consoles can be added, but under no circumstances should fewer
attachment points be used than those incorporated in the chassis frame from fac
-
tory.
Special points to be considered
The fuel filler cap must not be obstruced in any way.
The minimum distance between the door and the integrated body must be no less
than 20 mm, since a shorter distance could cause the door to jam after an accident.
The use of stabiliser bars is recommended.
5.4.9
Loading cranes
General considerations
There are different types of cranes and different positions for them on the vehicles.
The most common positions are:
- Crane installed immediately behind the cab.
- Crane installed on the rear overhang.
The type of loading crane should be selected according to vehicle performance and
features. The dimensions of the crane to be installed must be determined according
to the chassis dimensions and permissible axle loads for the specific vehicle model.
