General considerations
When adapting the body to the chassis frame, it is often necessary to make modi
-
fications to the basic vehicle. Due to these modifications it may also become
necessary to modify the original electrical system, e.g. the position of the rear lamps
might need to be changed if the length of the rear overhang of the vehicle is mo
-
dified.
In addition, the specific features and functions of the body often make it necessary
for additional lamp and signalling systems to be installed in the vehicle, in
compliance with the European and national standards in force.
Lamps and lamp signalling devices installed in the vehicle must be connected so that,
when used normally, they always comply with the standards, and do not impair the
operation of other equipment in the original lighting system.
The installation of red lamps on the front and white lamps on the rear must be avo
-
ided, (except for the reverse light), to avoid any possible confusion while the vehicle
is being driven. The installation of flashing lamps must also be avoided, except for
the warning flashers.
Attention must be paid to the new lamps installed as outline marker lamps, which
must be connected and disconnected in the same way as the original vehicle‘s lamps,
by means of the controls in the cockpit panel.
After the body has been mounted, the default setting of the headlamps must be re-
configured.
All electrical cables must be protected with flexible protective tubes.

CE Directives for lamps
For all work on the lighting system, the following technical standards should be tak
-
en into account:
- Directive 76/756/EEC o
f 27 July 1976 on the approximation of the laws of the
Member States relating to the installation of lighting and light-signalling
devices on motor vehicles and their trailers. Considering all its modifications.
- Directive CEE-R 48
Uniform provision concerning the approval of vehicle with
regard to the installation of lighting and light-signalling devices.
- The regulations applicable in each country.
NOTICE
Compliance with the law is the responsibility of the Body Builder.
