Documents required: documents delivered with the VESDA, fire extinguishing device layout
diagram, power supply and distribution system diagram

Skill requirement: fire engineer

For the diagrams, see the initial configuration parameter manual for the solution in use.

Procedure

Step 1

Switch on the input power circuit breaker of the VESDA for the protected area by referring to
the power supply and distribution system diagram.

Step 2

(Optional) Perform power-on commissioning by following instructions in documents
delivered with the VESDA.

The VESDA is commissioned before delivery. A VESDA that is newly installed or used as a replacement
must be commissioned as instructed by the delivered documents.

Step 3

Release smoke in the protected area using the smoke pistol. Verify that the VESDA alarm
indicator lights up, and that an alarm is generated in the management system.

After the operation is complete, press the reset button to reset the VESDA.
