Configuring Your System and Network

All of this information can be found on the NDMP user interface.

The changer’s device file may differ depending on your environment. The
Backup Devices area located at the bottom of the NDMP user interface lists
your tape changer device files. You must use the lettered device file (sga-sgz)
for the changer; do not use the sg(0-n). The values “3 0 3” from above
represent the SCSI controller number, SCSI ID, and the SCSI LUN. The
correct values to use can be found in the Backup Devices section of the
NDMP user interface. In this section, storage devices will be listed with a
n:n:n:n entry. The colon-separated values are for the controller number,
channel, SCSI ID, and LUN respectively. Use the listed SCSI controller
number, SCSI ID, and SCSI LUN values when configuring your changer’s
robotics.

10. With the NDMP services started on the NAS server, execute

set_ndmp_attr -verify NAShostname

This authenticates with the NAS server if login is successful.

Note:

When supplying the data set for a redirected restore, the browse button will not

allow you to select the NAS 8000 storage volume. You must type the storage volume

name and desired subdirectories into the appropriate area.

Note:

When performing a partial restore, restoring from a subdirectory backup, or

restoring from an incremental backup, navigate to the directory or file you want to

restore, then select it. Do not select the top-level volume file.
