Configuring Your System and Network

Specify a password

■

View the Command View NAS access list

■

Define your TCP/IP addresses

■

Enter DNS settings

■

Define all necessary parameters to create a high-availability configuration (if 
you have a high-availability system). Note that the high-availability 
configuration page appears only if the high-availability system is in an 
unconfigured state. Otherwise, select Configuration > HA Properties to edit, 
delete, start/stop the cluster, and start/stop nodes. 

■

Set up your Windows (WINS properties and security settings) and UNIX (NIS 
and NFS settings) environments

■

Set SNMP and email (SMTP) alerts

■

Enter an address for remote system log data

■

Enable Performance Monitor for tracking system performance

■

Set UPS monitoring 

Note:  

In a high-availability configuration, the wizard automatically uses the network 

time protocol (NTP) method to set the date and time. If an external NTP server is 

available, this server’s IP information should be entered. If no external NTP server is 

available, one of the clusters starts an NTP service and provides the time 

synchronization for the cluster. 

Command View NAS also lets you manually configure these settings within the 
Configuration tab. If your network configuration changes, you need to update 
these settings.

For specific help on a particular section in the wizard, click the Help button.
