6. Enter the device file name of the tape changer. Remember to use the lettered
device file, found in the Backup Device section of the NAS 8000 user
interface.
7. Select option 2 for the NDMP type of the NAS server.

jbconfig setup, and for instructions on setting up NDMP for NetWorker.
Configuring Veritas NetBackup for use with NDMP
Note: Use NetBackup 3.4/3.4.1 with NDMP Version 2; use NetBackup 4.5 with
NDMP Version 3. These versions of NetBackup do not support Direct Access Recovery
(DAR) at this time.
1. Install NetBackup as described in the NetBackup software documentation.
2. Install NDMP for NetBackup.
3. Open a command line on the NetBackup server. From the install path, execute
set_ndmp_attr -auth NAShostname root
4. Enter a password, using the same one that is used for NDMP.
5. Enter the password again as confirmation.
6. For three-way backups, enter the following for the NAS server that has no
storage device:
set_ndmp_attr -auth NAShostname root
7. Enter a password, using the same one that is used for NDMP for this NAS
Server.
8. Enter the password again as confirmation.
9. If you want to configure a robotic changer, you need to supply the:
— lettered device file for the changer
— controller number
— SCSI ID
— LUN
For example:
set_ndmp_attr -robot NAShostname /dev/sga 3 0 3
