Serial number of the storage system to be scanned.

Specify the hexadecimal number in ascending order. If the

is omitted, the

When the
F6=Scan
key is pressed after the items in
Table 14 (page 34)
are specified, volumes
are scanned within the specified range. If an invalid character is specified, or if the value specified
for
Start
is greater than the value specified for
End
, an error message prompts you to re-enter the
values.
After the local scanning operation, the number of detected volumes is displayed. The new information
is displayed in the Discover HP Storage System panel. After the NG scan is completed, the panel
transitions to the CU Selection List for Remote Storage System panel. The information on the scanned
volume configuration is saved in the disk configuration definition file. A name that conforms to the
value of
Configuration File Prefix
and
Local Device Address Domain ID
in the Set Defaults panel or
Non Gen'ed Device Address Domain
is assigned to the file using the following format:
prefix.DSK.SNnnnnn.dad-id
When entering prefix and dad-id information, the names must be specified using no more than
44 characters.
NOTE:
describes the command devices used when an NG scan is performed. If you want to
change the command device to be used, modify the environment according to information in
Table 15 (page 35)
.
