1. Safety
1.1 Identification of notes in
these operating instructions
The safety notes contained in these operat-
ing instructions, which could cause danger for
persons if not complied with, are marked with
general danger symbols:
Safety symbol acc. to DIN 4844 - W9:
General notes on functions and application hints
are marked as follows:
NOTE
These notes will help you to use all machine
functions most beneficially.
Notices directly attached to the machine
must be strictly followed and always kept in
perfectly legible condition.
1.2 Representation of safety
symbols
Safety notes are identified by the triangular
safety symbol and the preceding signal word.
The signal word (Danger, Warning, Caution)
described the severity of the imminent danger
and has the following meaning:
DANGER
identifies an immediate high risk endangerment,
which can lead to death or severe physical
injuries (loss of limbs or long-term damage) if
not avoided.
Failure to comply with these notices can lead to
fatal or most severe physical injuries.
WARNING
identifies a possible medium risk endangerment,
which could result in fatal or (severe) physical
injuries if not avoided.
Failure to comply with these notices may, un-
der certain circumstances, lead to fatal or most
severe physical injuries.
CAUTION
identifies a low risk endangerment, which could
result in minor or medium physical injuries, or
material damage, if not avoided.
This note identifies an obligation for a particular
behaviour or activity related to the proper han-
dling of the machine.
Failure to comply with such notices can lead to
malfunctions of the machine or problems in its
vicinity.
