Enabling ICMP (ping) reply
The Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) is a supporting protocol in the Internet
protocol suite. The protocol is used by network devices, such as routers, to send error
messages and operational information indicating, as an example, a requested service is
not available or a host or router could not be reached.
Procedure
1. Click Control Panel > Administrative Tools, and then start Windows Firewall with
Advanced Security.
