9.1 Connecting to the External Control Terminals

• Ground the instrument and computer using a common wiring. If
the instrument and computer do not share the same earthing
location, there will be a potential difference. Connecting a USB
cable while there is a potential difference can cause a malfunc-
tion or failure.
• The external control ground terminal is not isolated from the
instrument’s chassis ground. Make certain that there will be no
potential difference between the external control ground terminal
and the ground of any connected device. Otherwise, the instru-
ment or device could be damaged.
• To avoid electric shock, use the recommended wire type to con-
nect to the external control terminals, or otherwise ensure that
the wire used has adequate current-handling capacity and insu-
lation.

Push in the button on the connector with a flat-
blade screwdriver or other tool.

With the button held in, insert the cable into the
cable connection hole.

Release the button.
The cable is locked.
