STEP 32:
The Communication settings shown here are the defaults. The Refresh and
Retry Intervals should only be changed if connection problems are
experienced.
Enable SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption is an option for added security, but keep in
mind that this will slow down the overall connection and could take several minutes to
obtain the encryption key.
Allow Save Credentials checkbox enables (checked) and disables (unchecked) the Save
Credentials? checkbox on the eCDi™ login screen shown in Figure 3-4. and at the below.
In other words, if the Allow Save Credentials: checkbox is not checked in the Applet
Configuration screen, then the Save Credentials? function on the login screen is grayed out
and not functional.
CAUTION:
USING THE SAVE CREDENTIALS FUNCTION GREATLY INCREASES NETWORK SECURITY
RISK, AS THIS CAUSES THE USERNAME AND PASSWORD TO BE SAVED
AS A COOKIE AND PASSED TO THE ECDI™ AS A LIGHTLY SCRAMBLED TEXT FILE.
