4.2 Front Control Panel
This is the panel located in the control cabinet below the GUI display panel.

4.2.1 CONTROL Pushbuttons
The front control panel has six control buttons, these buttons function through the
CPLD to control the transmitter at the basic level.
•
Remote Enable - Enables remote control by hardwired parallel contacts or by remote
computer access to the GUI computer and display

Remote Disable - Locks out all control functions except transmitter off.
•
Power Raise and Lower - Local raise and lower control of exciter output power
•
Transmitter ON and OFF. The transmitter ON command button on this panel can
only be overridden by a latched off command from remote control. If this failure
happens, the only remedy is the disconnection of the faulty control connection.

These critical functions are hard wired to the CPLD Controller inputs. The other
buttons and indicators are controlled by the microprocessor and other support circuits
that are part of this control panel assembly.
4.2.2 STATUS Indicators / Pushbuttons
These buttons illuminate to indicate status of the subsections. Green illumination for no
faults or warnings. Yellow indicates a warning, warnings indicate a parameter
approaching a fault condition. Red indicates a fault has been reported. Pushing the
button replicates selecting a tab on the GUI display and will switch the GUI display to
the appropriate display page. The small digital display will be used to scroll critical
transmitter parameters if the GUI is not functioning.

Drive Chain - Fault status of one or more RF modules in the drive chain before the
PA power divider
•
Power Amp - One or more RF PA modules is reporting a fault
