RESISTANCE MEASUREMENT SPECIFICATIONS 

Note:  The uncertainties listed in Table 8-2 are applicable after a four-hour warm-up period when 
using  the  autoranging  mode  of  operation  and  when  the  current  is  no  less  than  one  picoampere 
through  the  unknown  resistor.    Many  types  of  high  value  resistors  can  be  difficult  to  measure 
accurately  with  the  6530  in  autoreverse  mode  because  their  actual  resistance  value  changes 
slowly for a period of time after a polarity reversal.  They can however be measured to the full 
6530 accuracy by allowing sufficient settling time between polarity reversals (soak time).  This 
is  done  under  manual  control  or  through  adjusting  the  6530  parameters.    The  accuracy  is 
traceable  to  the  International  System  of  Units  (SI)  through  NRCC  (Canada)  or  other  National 
Metrology Institutes.
