About Gearbox Board 12G SDI Input and Output Formatting

In the 2160p Frame Operating Mode, IP I/O boards can also output (only) a 2160p

independent single stream, a 4K 2SI quad stream (four 1080p images), and a single 1080p

stream. See

Input/Output 2160p Video Streams

When the GV K-Frame XP FOM (Frame Operating Mode) is set to 2160p, all SDI inputs and

outputs on the Gearbox Board (GB) can receive/transmit a single, independent 12G 2160p

video stream.

Input Gearboxing 4K 2SI and 4K SDQS

A 4K 2SI or 4K SDQS 12Gbps SDI single stream is brought into the switcher as four 1080p

signals that are connected to a group of four inputs. The four 1080p video inputs are then

gearboxed into one 2160p video stream, on the first of the four inputs. The first group

consists of inputs 1, 2, 3, and 4, the second group of inputs 5, 6, 7 and 8, and so on, through

all 16 inputs.
