Basic Configuration

Introduction

This section provides basic system configuration information for the GV K-Frame XP Video

Production Center switcher systems. Refer to the

KAYENNE/KARRERA/GV KORONA User

Manual

for your Frame model for switcher operation information.

Configuration Steps

Note:

See the

Switcher Concepts Manual

at grassvalley.com for basic

concepts including Keyers, E-MEMs, Backgrounds, M/Es, etc.

GV K-Frame XP basic system configuration includes the following steps:

Power up the system.

Set IP addresses for your facility (if not using defaults). Node Settings will also need to

be configured for proper system communications.

If necessary, adjust Control Panel button and display illumination.

If necessary, calibrate Control Panel lever arms and joystick (see

Maintenance

section).

Define your basic Engineering Setups. Essential settings include:

Source Definition

•

Outputs

•

Tally

Define a baseline User Setups (Panel Prefs and Suite Prefs). Important settings include:

•

Button Mapping

•

Source Patching

•

Default Keyframe

Configure external devices with the switcher system.

Save your configuration files.

Additional configuration will be required if multiple suites are being used.

Configuration Data

Current configuration settings for the GV K-Frame XP reside on the Video Processor Frame

(in the NV folder on the Compact Flash drive on the Processor Board). These settings affect

GV switcher system operation. When the Video Processor resets,
