Fryer Operation
Model: WOG-MP-VH
The following steps may be tried to potentially clear the E.A.C. Filter alarm:
1. Place Power Switch and Selector Switch in the
[OFF]
position.
2. Remove the E.A.C. Cell and clean as described in
Section 5.07.1.2.
3. Inspect the Filter Cell for broken or missing ionizer wires, bent fins, or other damage. Ionizer wires are
replaceable
(Single Wire - #21153; Pack of 10 - #71400)
; bent fins may be straightened by hand. An excessively
damaged Cell (broken, bent frame, etc) will need to be replaced.
4. Inspect the E.A.C. Contact Pad on the right-hand side of the Filter Chamber inside hood. Clean grease
accumulation away with a mild degreasing cleaner and dry thoroughly.
5. Replace Filter Cell and power-up Fryer
(Section 5.01.10, Computer or 5.02.5, Manual)
. If the condition persist,
contact a qualified service technician.

Filter Clogged
If the
Baffle Filte
r
or
Charcoal Filter
become clogged, or other restriction occurs to cause airflow through the Hood
to fall below the minimum required to provide effective capture of grease-laden vapors, the Fryer enters an alarm
condition until airflow is restored.
Note: Hood fan will continue to run.
The following steps may be tried to potentially clear the Clogged Filter alarm:
• Clean the Baffle Filter or replace Charcoal Filter. See
Sections
4.03.1, Baffle Filter Cleaning
and
4.03.3, Charcoal
Filter Maintenance
.
• Inspect Hood plenum to ensure that no other obstructions exist.
• Check the Hood exhaust outlet diverter and be sure that nothing is obstructing it or the surrounding area.
• Service technician may be required to diagnose problem and repair.
The Controller issues the
CLOGGED FILTER Error (Code 23).
An alarm tone sounds,
Lower Display
shows
“Er23”
,
and the
Upper Display
reads
“ERROR ALARM - CLOGGED FILTER”
. Indicates that the internal pressure switch has
failed to engage. This is typically due to insufficient airflow through the Hood and usually means that the Charcoal
Filter is clogged and needs to be
replaced
. Other airflow restricting conditions will also cause the alarm. Power to
the heating elements is turned
OFF
until the condition is corrected. Press the
[ALARM]
key to silence alarm. Install
a
NEW
Charcoal Filter and/or check for other airflow restrictions; the error will clear when proper airflow is
restored. See
Section 5.07.1.2 [E] Removing & Installing Charcoal Filter
.
A. Computer Controller:
B. Manual Controls:
A constant tone alarm begins sounding and power to the heating elements is turned
OFF
until the condition is
corrected. If the
HEAT
light was
ON
, it will turn
OFF
. These are the only signals for a clogged filter condition in the
manual control Fryer. Place the Selector Switch and Power Switch in the
[OFF]
position to silence alarm. Install a
NEW
Charcoal Filter and/or check for other airflow restrictions; the error will clear when proper airflow is restored.
See
Section 5.07.1.2 [E] Removing & Installing Charcoal Filter
.
IMPORTANT: Failure to use Giles OEM parts and OEM replacement filters may void the factory warranty.
