Programmable Logic Examples
Programmable Logic (PL) is the feature that allows you to combine multiple functions together.
There are certain scenarios that require a single Powerbar outlet to react to two or more
different functions. In cases like this, Programmable Logic is necessary. Out of all PL function
options, the functions, AND and OR are the most commonly used. This section will provide
examples and tips for using PL functions on your ProfiLux 4.
How to delay a skimmer from turning ON after a Maintenance
mode ends
Scenario: When a maintenance mode is activated, selected outlets turn OFF. When
deactivated, these outlets turn back ON immediately. For example, for manual water changes
we would have maintenance mode turn OFF return pumps, skimmer, etc. When the
maintenance mode is deactivated, everything EXCEPT the skimmer should turn back ON
because we want to avoid the skimmer cup from overflowing due to high water level in the
sump.
NOTE: 2 PL Functions will be used
In order to set a delayed ON reaction time for a socket, you will need to use
2 Programmable Logic functions. 1 will be for the actual delay and the other
will be for any other function you wish to tie-in.
Here’s how to create a delayed ON reaction for any maintenance mode:
CREATE THE 1
ST
PL FUNCTION: Maintenance mode delay

Go to the PROGRAMMABLE LOGIC settings page.
2.
Select an unused
Gate
and set the function to DELAYED OFF.
3.
