The first breath of a start sequence is a
volume-controlled test breath with Pause time
set to 10%. The measured pause pressure of
this breath is then used as the pressure level
for the following breath. An alarm is activated
if the pressure level required to achieve the
set target volume cannot be delivered due to
a lower setting of the upper pressure limit (-
5 cmH
2
O).
