9 Maintenance and cleaning
Maintenance tasks must only be carried out by competent
persons.
Immediately report any changes or malfunctions to the company
management or their authorised representative. If necessary, shut down
and secure the GEDA 500 Z immediately.

Before cleaning and maintenance work, first lower the platform
and remove the mains plug.
9.1 Daily cleaning
• Clean dirt off the rack and pinion hoist.
• Clear out the cable bin (keep free from snow and ice in winter).
• Keep working area around the hoist clear and clean.
9.2 Weekly servicing
• Test the braking distance:

Stop the loaded platform (see load bearing capacity) as it descends
(e.g. 2 m safety area). Overrun of the motor brake must not exceed
100 mm.
• Check the gear racks and drive
pinions for wear and lubricate.

For initial lubrication or as an
alternative to the automatic
lubrication device (option), the
gear rack can also be lubricated
manually.
Recommended lubricant:
−
GEDA Special spray - Item No. 02524
−
Grease cartridge - Item No. 13893 for grease gun

In the case of increased use or multi-shift operation, the racks
must be lubricated more often.
• Check the trailing cable, mains supply cable and control lines for
damage.
