6.2 Assembling the base unit
• Set the base unit at the support points (spindle support plates and
especially on the foot section support beneath the mast) onto load
distributing, even base supports and align (refer to Chapter 4.5).
Observe load-bearing capacity of the foundation!

The foot section must be underpinned beneath the mast over an
area measuring 0.5 m x 0.5 m (0.25 m
2
); the spindles are merely
used for adjustment, not for transferring forces from the mast
sections.
• The machine must be installed and deployed only vertically! The
base unit must be aligned parallel to the building or scaffold.
• Ensure a safety distance of at least 50 cm to any moving equipment
parts.
• Secure the foot section at a minimum of 2 support plates of the
spindles against moving (e.g. with pegs or dowel pins) or
alternatively attach the first mast anchor appropriately low (approx. 3
m above the ground).
• Vertically align the base mast from the start using a spirit level.
Check vertical alignment when attaching each mast bracket as well.
• Depending on the assembly
height, deploy a cable bin with
25 m, 50 m, 75 m or 100 m of
trailing cable.

should be secured to the trolley
using 4 attachment bolts M 8;
install cable clamps (M 5) for
tension relief ; insert plug (5) into
the plug adapter on the switch
box of the left trolley drive and
secure with a clamp (only if not
already installed for
transportation).

Set the cable bin (3) on the foot section and bolt onto the round mast
tubes with both scaffold couplings. Rotate the cable bin until it rests
on the stop bolts on the foot section.

When assembled correctly, the trailing cable runs through the
centre of the guide ring.

For machines with a 400 V drive, after switching on the main
switch (1), a green control light must illuminate, indicating that it is
ready for operation.
