LESSON 2: CHASSIS

Stability Assist System Calibration/Configuration

The stability assist module must be calibrated/configured whenever a component specific to the stability assist

system is disconnected or a new component is installed.

•

An active/fail lamp flashing may also indicate that the stability assist module needs calibration/configuration.

•

If a DTC is logged for any component of the stability assist system, the DTC must be cleared before carrying

out the recalibration procedure.

•

If a DTC is retrieved after recalibration, refer to the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module Diagnostic

Trouble Code (DTC) Index.

•

If installing a new stability assist module, the calibration procedures as well as the configuration procedure

must be carried out. For additional information regarding the module configuration and calibration, follow the

diagnostic tool directions for the calibration procedure.

•

A diagnostic scan tool is used to calibrate the lateral accelerometer, longitudinal accelerometer, yaw rate sensor

active brake booster learn cycle and steering wheel rotation sensor calibration. Before starting the procedure:

Position the vehicle on a level surface.

Chock the wheels to prevent the vehicle from moving.

Connect the diagnostic scan tool to the Data Link Connector (DLC) and follow the on-screen instructions to

navigate and perform the stability assist calibration feature.

Use the diagnostic scan tool to calibrate.
