Heated Seats
Heated Seats
The heated seats are now ‘‘module-less’’.
•
The heating pads are now controlled directly by their respective heated seat switches.
– When the heated seat switch is in the ON position, the heated seat feature will be enabled.
– A thermostat (located in each seat cushion) stops current flow to the heating pads if the temperature exceeds

F).
– There is no longer a ‘‘timer’’ feature that allows the system to ‘‘time out’’.
– If an occupant has enabled the heated seat feature prior to the ignition being turned off, it will still be enabled
when the ignition key is turned back on.
•
Diagnosis and service of the heating pads and switch are the same as prior model Explorer and Mountaineers.
– The seatback and seat cushion heating pads are serviceable separately from the remainder of the seat
assembly.
