LESSON 4: ELECTRICAL

TPMS Sensor Training

The tire pressure sensors do not need to be trained at pre-delivery, but the procedure must be performed after

servicing any TPMS component.

The tire pressure sensor training procedure must be performed on one vehicle at a time, in an area with minimal

radio frequency noise. Examples of radio frequency sources include electrical motors, appliances, cellular

telephones and remote transmitters.

Perform the following steps to complete the training procedure:

With the ignition switch in the OFF position, turn to the RUN position. Repeat two more times, ending in the

RUN position. Do not wait more than two seconds between each key cycle.

Press and release the brake pedal.

Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position, then to the RUN position. Repeat two more times, ending in the

RUN position. Do not wait more than two seconds between each key cycle.
