10 Troubleshooting
If any problem appears which cannot be solved with the help of this operating instruction, contact our sales office and give
a precise description of the problem. Specify the type, the serial number and the firmware version of the transmitter.
The display does not work at all or fails regularly.
Check the contrast setting of the transmitter or enter the HotCode 555000 to set the display to medium contrast.
Make sure that the correct voltage is available at the terminals. The destined transmitter voltage is indicated on the name -
plate below the outer right terminal strip.
If the power supply is OK, the transducers or an internal component of the transmitter are defective. The transducers and
the transmitter have to be sent to FLEXIM for repair.
The message "SYSTEM ERROR" is displayed.
Press BRK to return to the main menu.
If this message is displayed repeatedly, write down the number displayed in the lower line. Track down the situations when
the error is displayed. Contact FLEXIM.
The transmitter does not react when BRK is pressed during the measurement.
The program code is activated. Press C and enter the program code.
The backlight of the display does not work, but all other functions are available.
The backlight is defective. This problem has no influence on other functions of the display. Send the transmitter to FLEXIM
for repair.
The display in the lower line constantly toggles between different physical quantities.
Automatic toggling of the display in the BTU mode is activated. For deactivation see section 19.3.1.

Electric shock or arc faults can led to severe injuries. The measuring instrument can be damaged.
→ Prior to any work on the transmitter (e.g., installation, dismounting, connection, start-up), the transmitter has
to be disconnected from the power supply. It is not sufficient to remove the internal fuse of the instrument
(see section 7.2).

This may result in injuries (e.g., thermal damages).
