Burst generation
Discharge switch:
The discharge switch is a highly reproducible semiconductor switch. Spike frequencies up to 1000kHz are by a
factor of 10 higher than recommended in the actual EFT standards. This means of course that also the pulse
energy would be 10 times higher. This is not generally possible for the high voltage switch. Therefore the
following limitation protects the pulse forming circuit against overload:

Test level with Burst as per IEC 61000-4-4 Ed.2.
Burst generators, which the specifications in accordance with. IEC 61000-4-4 Ed2: 2004 fulfills, have a limitation
of the maximum output voltage. The efficiency of the burst pulses decreases with the numbers of couplings.
Therefore the maximum test level is limited by the number of coupling on several lines.
Generators with the modification in accordance with IEC 61000-4-4 Ed2: 2004 the. max. test levels have the
