Switch on the power to the EM260.

Approx. 1 minute after the device has switched on, the Ethernet adapter is initialized with the new
values and ready for communication.

Attention: Before a time window is opened in EK280, the modem initstring in the EK280 needs to
be deleted (in the path " Parameters " > " Interfaces " > " Internal modem "), so that the values correctly
set in the modem are not reset by the EK280 after opening of the time window or overwritten by
incorrect values.
7.2.3.4 Checking accessibility

Make sure that the Ethernet connecting cable of the EM260 is connected with your network (LAN).

In order to be able to verify the Ethernet card configuration, have your network administrator execute a
ping command to the corresponding IP address (e.g., ping 192.168.0.5.). This will ensure that the IP
address is registered within the network and valid.
7.2.3.5 Retrieving data with enSuite
a) Opening the test time window for the following test retrievals with enSuite.

The test time window only needs to be open if none of the time windows 5 to 6 is currently open.
See Section 7.1.2.3 "Retrieving data with enSuite", page 49)
b) Test retrieval via the network.

If the communication link to the EK280 is via the optical interface, press the " Disconnect " or the
" Disconnect from all devices " icon to terminate the communication link between enSuite and the EK280
and then wait for the "o" top left of on the EK280 display to stop flashing.

Set up the modem communication link from enSuite to the EK280. (see chapter 3.3 "Setting up the
communication link to EK280 via a network (TCP/IP)", page 16)

Once the communication link is set up, you can carry out checks, for instance view certain parameters.
To do this press "
Navigation " on the left-hand side of the enSuite window and then " Parameterize
online " in the bottom of the navigation window, then click on the plus sign next to " Parameters " and then
its subsections.

In enSuite press the " Disconnect " symbol or " Disconnect from all devices " to end the test retrieval.
