7.2.3.3 Parameterization of the EM260-integrated Ethernet adapters with ModemIni
As an alternative, the parameters may also be set directly in the Ethernet adapter with the "ModemIni"
program. However, this means that, with the EM260 housing open, 230 VAC supply voltage must be
connected, and only duly authorized personnel is permitted to do such work.

For parameterization of the Ethernet adapter in the EM260 for operation with an EK280 you need
the USB parameterization cable with the identification no. 73020481 and the ModemIni V3.50 or
later which you can order free of charge from Elster.
For parameterization of the Ethernet adapter in the EM260, please proceed as follows:

Make sure that time windows 5 and 6 of the EK280 are closed.

Make sure that there is no power to EM260.

In the EM260, push fit the jumper J1 in the lowest position
(see the EM260 operating instructions, Section 10,
"Jumper" and the photo on the right).

Connect one USB interface of your computer with the help
of the USB parameterization cable 73020481 to the with
the modem parameterization interface ST7 on the EM260
board (blue 2x5 pin terminal strip on the left adjacent to
the communications module, see photograph).

On your computer, start the modem parameterization
program "ModemIni" (version V3.50 or later)

Switch on the power to the EM260.
CAUTION! 230 V alternating current Risk to life!

Now start the ModemIni program and perform the following setting operations:
- terminal device:
EK280
- Modem box: EM260
- Modem module: Ethernet-Adapter
- PC interface: COMx (the COM interface, to which the parameterization cable is connected)
