Wait for approx. 1 minute, so that the initialization string can be reliably sent from EK280 to the
Ethernet card.
Attention!
Then it is necessary to perform a
Reset of the Ethernet card
(interrupt the ext. power
supply to the FE260 briefly). The parameters are taken over into the memory of the Ethernet card
only after this operation. Approx. 1 minute later the card is ready for communication.
Should it become necessary to write further settings such as the subnet mask or gateway to the Ethernet card,
the following commands must be used (see below).
i
Attention: Not all parameters may be transmittable at the same time within the Initstring, as the total
length of the string is 62 characters max. Therefore the necessary parameters must be transmitted
in 2 steps, where appropriate.
The values given below merely serve as examples and need not be lodged in the terminal device in this form.
The required commands are dependent on the existing network administration features.
#IP=0.0.0.0
Set own IP address
#GW=0.0.0.0
Set gateway address
#NM=255.255.255.0
Set network mask / sub mask
#PORT=1234
Set local port number
#DHCP=0
Automatic IP configuration by DHCP service
0=No autom. configuration. The applicable settings are those from the
saved profile (AT#IP, AT#NM, AT#GW)
1=Autom. network configuration. There must be an active DHCP
server in the network.
7.3.8.3 Parameterization of the Ethernet adapter integrated in the FE260 with ModemIni
In contrast to the EM260, the Ethernet-Adapter of the FE260
cannot
be parameterized with ModemIni, as an
FE260 does not have the parameterizing interface needed for this purpose! Consequently the Ethernet
adapter on the FE260 can only be parameterized via the optical interface of the EK280 (see previous
section).
7.3.8.4 Checking accessibility
Make sure that the Ethernet connecting cable of the FE260 is connected to the network (LAN)
In order to be able to verify the Ethernet card configuration, have your network administrator execute a
ping command to the corresponding IP address (e.g., ping 192.168.0.5.). This will ensure that the IP
address is registered within the network and valid.
7.3.8.5 Retrieving data with enSuite
See Section 7.2.3.5 on page 76.
7.3.8.1 Additional information: Cable occupation of the RJ45 network plug
