Optionally, when the system includes the OEM SBG, there a two RS-232 (Port A/B) for data from the
GNSS/INS unit. Note, these RS-232 ports are not needed in a loop-back style to send
time/position/attitude to the sonar as the INS data is internally transferred via the ethernet connection.
Also, there is one RS-232 (RTK Input) that should be used to send the data stream from an RTK Corrections
Service to the GNSS/INS unit (and the NMEA GGA from the GNSS/INS unit to the RTK Service) via an
externally connected Internet modem and using the NTRIP protocol.

Hardware Connectivity
is a block diagram that illustrates interconnections between the 6205s2-R Rack Mount Topside
Interface and all supporting sensors. This illustration gives examples of three possible sensor
configurations that are explained below.

, the 6205s2 topside interface connects to the sonar head via deck cable. Time and 1PPS,
navigation, heading, roll, pitch, and heave data from supporting sensors via COM ports 1, 2, and/or 3 and
1PPS, are inputted at the sonar interface, passed through the deck cable, and processed by the sonar
processor in sonar head.
These processed navigation and attitude data are transmitted (along with the raw side-scan data) with a
common timestamp up the deck cable to the 6205s2 sonar interface. Together, they are then passed to
the topside computer through an Ethernet cable and via the 100Mbps link on an Ethernet port (IP Address:
192.9.0.99).
