The function is identical for the Z2 circuit. The relay stages for the Z2 circuit begin with the following relay
stage of the pack controller:
A: Number of capacity controlled compressors Z1
B: Number of capacity stages per capacity controlled compressor Z1
C Number of compressors Z1
In the example the following results for the first stage of the Z2 compressor: (1 * 3 ) + ( 2 - 1 ) + 1 = 5
The number of the controlled capacity stages of a compressor is taken into account for the base load rotation.
If a Z1/Z2 circuit is only equipped with only one multi-stage compressor or speed controlled compressor, the
limiting of compressor starts for this compressor is deactivated. From the second compressor onwards, the
limiting of compressor starts remains active.
This measure prevents long standstill times of an installation’s Z1/Z2 circuit. If during active step action control
there is more than one capacity-controlled or only one single-stage compressor available in the Z1/Z2 circuit,
the limiting of compressor starts remains active for all steps.
If the limiting compressor starts for the first stage of the Z1/Z2 circuit is deactivated, a minimum standstill time
for the first stage of each circuit can be set using the parameter standstill S1 Z1/Z2 (menu 3-3). The minimum
standstill time is only displayed when the respective Z1/Z2 circuit of the installation only has one capacity-
controlled or speed controlled compressor.
The standstill time is always observed following the shutdown of the first compressor of the respective Z1/Z2
circuit by the suction pressure controller or as a result of faults. In the case of a capacity-controlled
compressor, the first stage is only loaded again when the switch-on delay
the minimum standstill time and
have elapsed. A speed controlled compressor starts after expiry of the minimum standstill time and runs for the
duration of the switch-on delay at the minimum speed.
