Troubleshooting 

F0080 to F0087  - Check Powertrain Relay #N 

Error Description 

Possible Causes 

Possible Solutions 

MPDM has detected that MPDM 

relay #N has failed. 

1)  LV supply problem. 

2)  Defective MPDM relay #N. 

3)  Blown MPDM fuse. 

4)  MPDM internal failure.

3)  Replace MPDM fuse. 

4)  Replace MPDM. 

 

This error indicates that the MPDM has detected that 

one of its relays is defective. The MPDM provides 16 

fused 12V outputs, eight of which are relay-

controlled. Each relay has a corresponding error 

code. The relays are numbered K1 through K8. The 

consequences of the error will depend on which 

relay is defective. 

 

The MPDM also monitors its internal fuses and will 

raise the corresponding error F0064 through F0079 

if it detects a failure. There may be some cross-

sensitivity between fuse and relay error detection. 

 

Troubleshooting for errors F0080 to F0087 is similar 

and a single generic troubleshooting tree is provided. 

The specific fuse, relay, connector, and pin details 

for each error code are provided in the table below. 

The technician should use the table to look up the 

information corresponding to the specific error code 

and then use this information in the generic 

troubleshooting tree.
