EAR Controlled - ECCN EAR99
1.
Use an appropriately sized hole saw to
provide holes in the desired location of the
base pan where the cables will enter the
radome.
2.
Insert a strain relief up from the underside of
the radome into one of the holes in the base
of the radome.
3.
Place the sealing ring (rubber side down) onto
the body of the strain relief from the inside of
the radome.
4.
Thread the locking nut onto the body of the
strain relief from the inside of the radome.
5.
Being careful not to damage the radome or
the strain relief threads, use two 1-1/2” (38
mm) adjustable pliers to tighten the locking
nut onto the strain relief.
6.
Repeat these steps to install the other needed
strain reliefs.
7.
Route each cable through a strain relief to it’s
connection point. We recommend that you
leave a little excess service length on each
cable.
8.
Route the TXIF cable through one of the
compression caps, the washer, the rubber
stopper and the body of the strain relief and
to the coax interconnect bracket on the AZ
Post.
9.
Connect the TXIF coaxial cable that runs
between the above decks and below decks
equipment to the TX connector on the
interconnect bracket on the AZ Post.
10.
Route the RXIF cable through one of the
compression caps, the washer, the rubber
stopper and the body of the strain relief and
to the coax interconnect bracket on the AZ
Post.
11.
Connect the RXIF coaxial cable that runs
between the above decks and below decks
equipment to the RX connector on the
interconnect bracket on the AZ Post.
NOTE: PEDESTAL GROUND - Minimum
gauge of the ground wire/strap should not be
smaller than
10 AWG
, even for a short cable run out to the nearest hull ground location.
12.
Route the ground wire/strap through one of the compression caps, the washer, the
rubber stopper and the body of the strain relief to the burnished threaded hole on the
Sawhorse Base Stand.
NOTE: The ground strap/wire can be passed through the same strain relief as the power cable.
NOTE: PEDESTAL & RF POWER - Minimum
gauge for the AC Power conductors should not
be smaller than
12 AWG
, even for a short cable run.
13.
Route the AC Power cable through one of the compression caps, the washer, the rubber
stopper and the body of the strain relief and into the base of the radome.
14.
Pull a small amount of excess cable into the radome. To route the power cable to the
circuit breaker box, with a small amount of excess cable as a service loop.
15.
Slide the strain relief cap, washer and rubber stopper up into the body of the strain relief.
16.
Tighten the cap until the rubber compresses sufficiently to prevent the cable from
sliding in the body of the strain relief.
