The instruction manual for this device consists of general and specific instructions,
both must be carefully read and understood before use.
Attention!
This leaflet
shows the specific instruction only.
SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS EN 12277:2015+A1:2018.
These notes comprise all
the necessary information for a correct use of the harnesses for mountaineering,
including those for climbing purposes.
1) FIELD OF APPLICATION.
This product is a personal protective equipment
(P.P.E.) device against fall from height and it is compliant to the Regulation (EU)
2016/425. EN 12277:2015+A1:2018 - Mountaineering equipment: harness-
es. The norm applies to the complete harness (type A), to the small size harness
(type B), to the sit harnesses (type C), and to the chest harnesses (type D).
2) NOTIFIED BODIES.
Refer to the legend in the general instructions for use (par-
agraph 9/table D):
M1; M2; M6; N1.

4) MARKING
. Numbers/letters without caption: refer to the legend in the general
instructions (paragraph 5). Numbers/letters with asterisk (*): indication shown
depending on the model.
4.1 - General
(Fig. 3). Indications: 3; 4; 6; 7; 8; 12; 13; 14; 17; 18; 30) Pic-
togram showing the correct connecting methods. 31) Pictogram showing how to
close and fix the adjustment buckles.
4.2 - Traceability
(Fig. 3)
.
Indications: T2; T3*; T8; T9.
5) INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE.
5.1 - Adjustment.
Chose a harness with the suitable size (Fig. 2). Wear the har-
ness so that the belt and the leg loops are positioned at the correct height (Fig. 7).
Adjust the belt using the adjustment buckle(s) (Fig. 5), so that it fits perfectly to the
body, without being too tight (Fig. 6.1). Adjust the leg loops using the adjustment
buckles, if present, and the support elastics, so that one hand can pass between
the leg loop and the user’s leg (Fig. 6.2-6.3).
Attention!
The exceeding part of
the slings must be always inserted in the elastic loops, in order to prevent the ac-
cidental loosening of the adjusting buckles (Fig. 5.2).
Attention!
Before use, it is
necessary to carry out a hanging test in a safe environment, in order to ensure that
the harness has the correct size, it owns the possibility of a suitable adjustment and
an acceptable comfortability level for the intended use.
Attention!
It is important to
check regularly the buckles and/or the adjustment devices during the use.
5.2 - Explorer / Explorer W model
. After adjusting the belt operating on the ad-
justment buckle (3) (Fig. 8.1-8.2), the belt might be not centred compared to the
belay loop (Fig. 8.2). In order to optimise the positioning, pass the belt padding
through the webbing (Fig. 8.3). The leg loops can be adjusted in the same way.
5.3 - Use.
The harness must be only connected to the system through the attach-
ment points intended for this use: single attachment point (belay loop - Fig. 10.2)
or double attachment point (harness loop + loop- Fig. 10.1). For connecting the
rope to the harness use a figure of 8 (Fig. 9) or two screw gate connectors having
opposed gate (Fig. 10.3-10.4).
Attention!
Do not use different attachment points
than the indicated ones (Fig. 11).
Attention
! Never use a tie-in method with only
one connector, as it may come to be loaded in a wrong position across the gate.
The harness of type C can be used combined with a chest harness of type D (Fig.
14.3).
Attention!
The use of a single harness of type D not coupled with a harness
of type C can lead to risks of injuries.
5.4 - Techniques.
The harness can be used in mountaineering activities, for the
belay techniques (Fig. 14.1), abseiling (Fig. 14.2), Via Ferrata routes, etc. The
Pro-canyon model has been specifically designed for canyoning.
Attention!
Be-
fore each use, pre-arrange a suitable rescue plan that could be executed in a safe
and efficient way.
6) PRO-CANYON.
The anti-wear protection present on the Pro-canyon model
can be replaced with the apposite spare part Canyoning Protection (Ref. No.
7H141AF). For a correct replacement, kindly proceed as follows: pull the slings
out of the belt and leg loops buckles (Fig. 13.1); remove the elastic strap retainers
and the damaged wear-proof protection, and insert the webbings of the belt (A)
and of the leg loops (B-C) into the corresponding loops (A-B-C) of the spare part
(Fig. 13.2); put again in the elastic strap retainers, close the buckles as shown
on Fig. 5.1 and insert the the exceeding webbing (Fig. 13.3).
Attention!
Before
use, always check that the webbings do not present foldings and are correctly
inserted into the buckles.
