Initialize only us ing the camcorder
- There is a problem with the file system that prevents accessing the selected memory. Initial-
ize the memory with this camcorder ( 35).
LCD Screen ha s been dimmed
- Hold pressed for 2 seconds to restore the L C D screen to its previous brightness set-
ting.
May not be po ss ible to record movie s on thi s memory card
- You inserted a memory card without a Speed C lass rating. Replace the memory card with one
rated Speed C lass 2, 4, 6 or 10.
- You may not be able to record movies in FXP mode on a memory card without a Speed C lass
rating.
Mem. Card N u mber of s cene s already at maxim u m
- The memory card already contains the maximum number of scenes (3,999 scenes); no fur-
ther scenes can be recorded or copied ( / / only) onto the memory card.
Delete some scenes ( 50) to free some space.
Mem. Card Unable to recognize the data
- The memory card contains scenes recorded in a different television system (NTS C ). It cannot
played back with this camcorder.
Memory card cover i s open
- After inserting a memory card, close the memory card slot cover ( 33).
Memory card i s f u ll
- The memory card is full. Delete some recordings ( 50, 83) to free some space or replace
the memory card.
Memory card i s write-protected
- The LO C K switch on the memory card is set to prevent accidental erasure. C hange the posi-
tion of the LO C K switch ( 157).
Need to recover file s from the memory card. Change the po s ition of the LOCK s witch on the
memory card.
- This message will appear the next time you turn on the camcorder if power supply was acci-
dentally interrupted while the camcorder was writing on the memory card and later the posi-
tion of the card’s LO
C K switch was changed to prevent erasure. C hange the position of the
LO C K switch.
No memory card
- Insert a compatible memory card into the camcorder ( 32).
No photo s
- There are no photos to play back. Have fun taking some photos ( 79).
No s cene s
- There are no scenes in the index screen selected. Have fun shooting some movies ( 37).
