Parts Replacement and Cleaning > Disassembly/Assembly - Image Formation System - > Installing the ITB Unit

Installing the ITB Unit

Points to Note at Installation:
• Since there are 2 types of ITB Unit: the old type and the new type, it is necessary to

identify the type with the following method before starting the work.

1) Identify the type of the ITB Unit.
The new type ITB Unit has the following features:
• Color of the handle at the rear side is gray
• Color of the Barcode Label is yellow

2) Install the ITB Unit.

Points to Note at Installation:
• To perform image stabilization control (ATVC control) when replacing the ITB Unit,

turn ON the main power switch once and then execute auto gradation adjustment
(either one of the followings: quick adjustment or full adjustment).

• Check that the Registration Patch Sensor is open, and then install the ITB.

3) Update the firmware according to the type of the ITB as needed basis.

4) Change the setting value of COPIER>OPTION>IMG-TR>ITB-TYPE according to the type

of the ITB.

CAUTION:
IIf the type of the ITB and the setting value of ITB-TYPE does not match, not much
effect against ghosting can be expected.
In addition, if 1 is set to ITB-TYPE while the ITB is the old type, ghosting image may
become worsened.

5) Clear the parts counter of the ITB.
(Lv.1) COPIER>COUNTER>DRBL-1>TR-BLT

6) If the setting values of the following service modes are changed, set the values back to 0.
(Lv.2) COPIER>ADJUST>HV-PRI>USUB-KDC
(Lv.2) COPIER>ADJUST>HV-PRI>1TR-TGK1
(Lv.2) COPIER>ADJUST>HV-PRI>1TR-TGK4
(Lv.2) COPIER>ADJUST>HV-PRI>DIS-TGK
(Lv.2) COPIER>ADJUST>HV-PRI>DIS-TGK2

7) Execute Auto Adjust Gradation> Full Adjust.
