Problem 17 Passport cannot be scanned as intended
Solutions Depending on the condition of the carrier sheet or
passport, the image may not be scanned completely or
the scanner's image correction may not function
properly.
Configure the settings as shown below.
(1) Set [Page Size] to a larger paper size (A4, for
example) on the scanner driver settings screen,
and then scan again.
(See p. 73)
(2) Set [Dots per inch] to 300 dpi or less on the scanner
driver settings screen. (See p. 73)
(3) Clean the roller.
Problem 18 The size detection and deskew functions fail.
Solutions When [Document Type] is set to [Carrier sheet] in the
[Feeding] tab of the scanner driver settings screen and
you scan a document with black edges without
inserting it in a carrier sheet, the size detection and
deskew functions may fail. In such cases, disable the
size detection and deskew functions, or set [Document
Type] to [Plain paper] in the [Feeding] tab.
