Battery Care
Nickel Metal Hydride Battery
Always remove the NiMH batteries prior to shipping the

Matic. The batteries should
be packaged such that the terminals of the individual batteries cannot contact each
other or other metallic objects.
These batteries do not have an infinite shelf life and will self-discharge over time even
if the unit is off. It is recommended that they be left in the
i
Matic and that the
i
Matic be
plugged in whenever possible to maintain full battery charge.
Typical battery self-discharge is shown in the chart below.
Memory Backup Battery
Internal battery for memory and real time clock.
Note: The typical battery life is 5 years. Please contact Mirion Technologies
(Canberra) if you experience a problem with the batteries.
