— If a power pedestal is installed, a 2 AWG solid bare tinned copper wire shall be added
from the power pedestal neutral bar to the ground ring. The neutral and ground bars
must be bonded together in the power pedestal per NEC codes.
— A 6 AWG stranded ground wire between the power pedestal and the AC panel in the
equipment chamber, shall be routed through a conduit with the service conductors.
— A 6 AWG stranded bond wire shall be installed between the AC panel ground bar and
the master ground bar (MGB) in the power chamber.
— All bonding wire sweeps shall be a large radius of a minimum of eight inches and 90
degrees.
— All compression terminals shall be of an approved type and shall be installed per
manufacturer's instructions.
— A 2 AWG solid bare tinned copper wire shall be installed from the MGB to the
ground ring.
— Only bonding insulated conductors are allowed to loop inside the cabinet. All others
must route to the ground system or in conduit in the straightest possible way, but
never less than an 8-in. (20.32 cm) radius, and never less than 90 degrees.
— Only a two-hole compression terminal will be used on cabinet ground bars. All AC
ground bars may be screw-tight terminals with either stranded or solid wires with
proper torque values. Refer to torque label on AC panel for proper screw torque.
6.3 Turning Up AC Power
DANGER
When working with AC power, hazardous voltage conditions exist that could result in
serious injury or death, and/or equipment damage. Follow all locally approved and NEC
specified safety procedures and wear all locally approved safety gear when turning up
AC power.
