4.3.15 Be sure that all the wire mesh or reinforcing bars are set approximately two inches (5.08 cm)
off the bottom of the form.
4.3.16 If required, use local practices to treat the area below the pad and for two feet (61 cm) around
the perimeter against insect infestation.
4.3.17 Use a high-early strength concrete mix so the cabinet may be placed three days following
concrete pouring. Coarse aggregate used in the concrete shall be graded from

-in. (1.8 cm)
to No. 4 only. The compression strength of the concrete must be a minimum of 4000 psi as
determined by ASTM C39 test of compression strength of concrete cylinders.
4.3.18 Pour the concrete. Finish the concrete so that the entire surface is flush with or

below the top of the template mounting plates.
4.3.19 Cure the pad for a minimum of three days before cabinet installation, or according to the type
of concrete used and/or local practices.
4.4 Unpacking the Cabinet
4.4.1 MESA
®
6 NxT / Calix ODC-120 cabinets are shipped on wooden pallets with plastic covering
and corrugated cardboard to protect the cabinet during shipment.
DANGER
A CABINET NOT SECURED TO A PALLET OR PAD IS UNSTABLE AND COULD
TIP OVER CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
Do not install any equipment until the cabinet is secured to its concrete foundation pad.
CAUTION
TO AVOID EQUIPMENT DAMAGE:
DO NOT REMOVE The pallet, corrugated cardboard and plastic covering from the cabinet
until the cabinet is transported to the installation site.
Always ship and store the MESA
®
6 NxT / Calix ODC-120 cabinets on the pallet in an upright
position to avoid possible damage to the internal equipment.
Until the cabinet is turned up for service, the desiccant shipped with the cabinet must remain
in the cabinet to retard moisture condensation.
4.4.2 If the external packaging appears excessively damaged, do not accept the unit from the shipper
as interior damage may not be apparent.
4.4.3 CAREFULLY remove all packaging material from around the cabinet and pallet. Dispose of the
packaging according to local practices. DO NOT REMOVE THE CABINET FROM IT'S
PALLET AT THIS TIME.
