Step 4: Pull the door open wide enough to secure the wind latch at the bottom or top of the
door. The wind latch is secured when the shoulder engages the hole and slot at the
end of the bar. (See Fig. 5.)

3.0.4 To close a door - Perform the following steps to close a door:
Step 1: Lift the slotted bar on the wind latch to release the shoulder from the hole and slot.
(See Fig. 4.)

Step 2: Close the door.
Step 3: While holding the door closed, lower the door latch into the lock bed. Lock the door.

3.1 Resetting The MESA
®
Intrusion Alarm
3.1.1 Purpose - This section describes the intrusion alarm function of the MESA
®
cabinets and
explains how to reset (disable) the alarm while performing routine maintenance.
3.1.2 The MESA
®
cabinet is equipped with an intrusion
alarm in the equipment, power, and splice
chambers.
3.1.3 When a cabinet door is opened, the intrusion switch
will report an alarm.
3.1.4 Reset the alarm by pulling the switch plunger outward
as shown in Fig. 6. When pulled, the switch
disables the alarm until such time as the switch is
reset manually or by closing the cabinet door.
