Pickup Pivot point

The 'Pickup' is mounted on to the chassis by 2 vertical
square posts sliding vertically through the chassis
(Fi
g. 84
)
.
The height of the pickup is maintained by pins inserted
through holes in the 'Pickup Legs'.
The correct height for the pickup is when the pivot point for
the pickup frame is half way between the top of the bale
(
Fig. 84, measurement 1
)
and the top of the fully lowered
and retracted table
(
Fig. 84, measurement 2
)
.
C
hanging the
height of the tractor drawbar and the Transtacker Drawbar
will have an effect on the pickup height
. H
eights of bales will
have a more considerable effect on the pickup
height
adjustment.
CAUTION
:
This stage should be completed before collection
of any bale is done.
This is to ensure that no damage to the
Transtacker or bales is done.
1. Stop the machine on level flat ground, in a straight line.
Apply the trailer parking brake.
Make sure the drawbar is in
the
most upright
position for this exercise. The Transtacker
will
have to be in road mode for this to work correctly.
2. Switch off electrics and neutralise hydraulics.
3. Pull the pins that lock the pickup in position
(Fig.
85
)
.
4.
Refer to (
Fig. 86
) t
o see recommended holes and
orientation of plates in the 'Pickup legs' for certain bale
sizes. These do not have to be used. This is just a guide.
Note
: If you have the optional extra of 'Drawbar
Suspension' this will affect the pin positioning and
orientation. however the drawbar suspension can allow you
to fine adjust the height.
5. Replace the pins to resume latch function.
6. Remove the trailer parking brake.
This section is suggested
adjustments
that should be undertaken
depending on the bale size you are working with.
If you are changing
bale sizes or setting up the Transtacker for the first time, please refer
to
Sections 6.1 - Pickup Height, 6.3 - Turntable Bale Stop, 6.4 -
900mm Stop, 6.5 - Pickup Tines, 6.6 - Pickup Shoe, 6.7 - Grab Arm
CTF Paddle,
6.8 - Proximity Sensors
WARNING
: The plates
CANNOT
be proud of the top of the
vertical legs (
Fig. 87
). If the plates are proud of the legs,
the plates will cause damage to the pickup lift cylinders. If
you're pickup up 1.2mx0.7m bales, you'll find the pickup
frame can rest of the chassis and remove the pickup
plates and pins all together
.
