Pickup Tines
If you require to use the Transtacker on 4 string
bales (800mm Wide), then you will need this function.
1. Locate the 900mm guide bar stops (
Fig. 9
2
).
2. Remove the R-Clips from the safety pins and remove
safety pins (
Fig. 9
3
).
3. Extend the rods out and connect them to the guide bar
with the safety pins (
Fig. 9
4
).
Note
: The length of the rods are controlled by a connecting
nut on the other end of the rods. The length of these rods
are factory set for 800mm wide bales. Turning these rods will
alter the length, so beware to extend rods without rotating.
Note
: If you find the grab arm isn't squeezing the bales tight
enough, shorten the length of the rods by taking the safety
pins out and turning clockwise. Only adjust in small
movements.
CAUTION
: Big Bale Co South Ltd, will NOT take
responsibility for miss adjustments. Contact Big Bale Co
South Ltd for more in depth detail for adjustments.

The position and number of tines can also be changed.
Generally speaking bales up to 300 Kg will require 2 tines
only. Bales over 300 Kg will require 4 tines.
In the 'Tine Frames' there are 3 positions the tines can be
placed. If you are working with bales that are 1300mm or
1200mm or 900mm high, it is suggested that you put your
tine in the top and bottom hole in the tine frames (
Fig. 9
5
). If
you are working with bales that are 700mm high, it is
suggested that you put your pickup tines in the middle and
bottom hole in the tine frames (
Fig. 9
6
).
Position the tines so they penetrate just above the centre of
the bale. You may have to refer back to
Section 6.1 Pickup
Height
for further details.
6.6
Pickup Shoe
If you are collecting 120x130cm
bales
, it is recommended
to use the 'Pickup Shoe' that is supplied with your
Transtacker to support the bottom of the bale. (
Fig. 9
7
).
Hole 2 (
Fig. 9
8
) is the suggested standard hole to use as this
will allow the grab arm to slot in-between the Pickup Shoe
and the Pickup also ensuring you have enough ground
clearance.
Hole 1 (
Fig. 9
8
) is for extra support for the bale if this is
needed. However this will bring the pickup shoe closer to the
ground restricting the movement in and out of fields.
CAUTION
: Ensure there is enough ground clearance as this
can cause considerable damage if not operated correctly.
Big Bale Co South Ltd, will NOT take responsibility for miss
adjustments. Contact Big Bale Co South Ltd for more in
depth detail for adjustments.
WARNING
: Ensure that the 'Pickup Shoe' will not make
contact with the 'Grab Arm' when going into 'Road Mode' or if
the Transtacker is 'Full'. Hole 3 (
Fig. 9
8
) will make contact
with the grab arm if place in the pickup.
