Troubleshooting

This section lists possible malfunctions, along with probable causes 
and corrective actions. Maintenance procedures are given in 
Section 5. For any problems not covered here, contact Beckman 
Coulter Field Service (1-800-742-2345 in the United States) for 
assistance.

NOTE

It is your responsibility to decontaminate the 
instrument, as well as any rotors and accessories, 
before requesting service by Beckman Coulter 
Field Service.

USER MESSAGES

User messages appear on the setup screen to communicate informa-
tion about the instrument or to alert you to abnormal conditions that 
need attention.

• Help messages caused by incorrect input or certain operating 

conditions can be cleared by pressing [

CE

] and following the 

instructions in the message.

• Diagnostic messages that result from abnormal operating condi-

tions or equipment malfunction require troubleshooting. Refer to 
Table 4-1 to determine the nature of the condition and any recom-
mended actions. If a problem persists after you have performed the 
recommended action, call your Beckman Coulter Field Service 
representative. To help the field service representative diagnose 
and correct the problem, gather as much information about the 
situation as you can, including:
