4.7.4 Meter display
To display the MPU6 short and long term electronic meters, open one of the machines
doors, then press the start button for the test credits and turn the refill key.
The short and long term metering information is then displayed on the alphanumeric display
and can be stepped through each meter by selecting the start button. The short-term
accountancy meters may be cleared using the cancel button. Refer to the machines manual
for details.
The long-term accountancy and service history meters can be cleared only at the factory or
by the use of a Clear Down USB stick to erase the contents of the MPU6 non-volatile
memory. Instructions for using stick key are given in Sect 3.3.1.3
4.7.5 Data access
The method of gaining access to data on each meter, and the data displayed on the meters,
varies from machine to machine and between machines of different types such as Category
C, D, B4, B3 and B2 including overseas machines. Refer to the appropriate Machine Manual
for details.
4.8 Switch Mode Power Supply
The Power supply is a single compact unit and provides the DC supplies required by the
machine. The MPU6 system uses the same Switch mode type of power supply as used on
the MPU5 type of machines.
4.8.1 Electrical connections
Connection to the mains supply is through an I.E.C. Europlug, which also provides a
convenient means of isolating the MPU6 from any other mains driven circuits.
The SMPSU frame and all items of external metalwork are connected to mains earth. Output
connections are through a 17-way connector via paralleled 11-way Barbus connectors and
jumpers to similar Barbus connectors on the MPU6, MUX5/MUX5E and REEL5 boards.
All the supplies are electrically isolated from mains earth and are isolated from each other
until they reach the MPU6, where they are all commoned to a single zero-volt point.
